Carlos Antonio Carrizosa

Carlos Antonio Carrizosa Sr., son of the late Frank Carrizosa and Enedina Escandon-Carrizosa, passed away peacefully on August 20th, 2017 in Tempe, Arizona of natural causes. Born on May 21st, 1939 in Globe, Arizona, our beloved father and brother is preceded in death by his only sister Maria Elvia Carrizosa-Rodriquez and daughters Cecelia Carrizosa and Carmen Carrizosa. He is survived by spouse Irene Carrizosa, daughter Christine Carrizosa and sons Danny Carrizosa and Carlos Jr. Carrizosa; by brothers Frank Carrizosa, Manuel Carrizosa, and Mario Carrizosa; and 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Carlos's life was characterized by the ease of his friendly-natured personality which he extended to all those whose path he crossed. A devoted family man and retired Army veteran, he exemplified a life of dedicated work, providing consistently for his wife and children, mostly as an Operations Foreman at Reynolds Aluminum and later at Honeywell Corporation. Time and again, we experienced his compassion and love for others, especially those who were homeless, without employment, less able, and less fortunate. He gave his time and resources, almost without condition as an extension of the Grace which he felt had been so divinely provided to him. Carlos had a great love for sports (especially baseball) and music. He actively played competitive softball through mid-life and was an intuitive and accomplished musician and singer. But most significantly, his life is stamped by the legacy of his intense faith towards his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Dramatically, he was given 'eyes to see, and ears to hear' by his King, and his life serves as a testament to the enduring nature of this saving Grace; he continued to proclaim his allegiance to Christ even up to his final earthly minutes. Beloved father, thank you for your example, companionship, and love. May you rest in peace, enjoying your 'heavenly mansion' in the presence of your Creator. We look forward to being reunited in due time.
