Doug Sarten

Doug Sarten was born on February 13, 1931 in Bellview, New Mexico and passed away on November 25, 2017. He was predeceased in death by his parents Omer and Mayme Sarten, sisters Maxine Ferry, Joyce Bowman, Doris Lewallen, and brother, James Sarten. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Diane Raborn Sarten, a son, Donald (Cyndi), daughter Lara (Greg) Castro, brother Leonard (Charlotte) Sarten and Jo Cripso, three grandsons, Jeremy and Creed Sarten, Aidan Castro and two granddaughters, Emma and Caitlyn Castro. Doug's family moved to Tempe, Arizona in 1935. He graduated from ASU in 1957 and taught in the Roosevelt School District in South Phoenix for 36 years as a classroom teacher as well as a PE teacher. He retired in 1993. A Celebration of Doug's life will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 11:30 AM at Richardson Funeral Home, 2621 South Rural Road, Tempe, Arizona. Interment of Doug's cremated remains will take place on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 1:30 PM at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, Arizona. Richardson Funeral Home, Tempe, Arizona is compassionately serving the family.
