It is with great sadness that the family of Ruth Ann "Ruthy" (Marschke) Harczynski, 82 announce her passing on Friday morning, November 2, 2018 from complications relating to End-Stage Renal disease. Although in hospice care for the last week of her life, she was friendly, caring & talkative when awake until she died peacefully in her sleep after a 7+ year long hard-fought battle with the disease.

Ruth was born in Chicago, IL in 1936 and attended Bowen High School eventually meeting her husband James Harczynski whom she married in 1957. Ruth & Jim eventually settled in South Holland, IL bought a house and she raised her family there as a loving mother & housewife. Later on when her husband retired, Ruth decided to become a nurse and attended Thornton Community College ultimately graduating as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in 1981. She worked at Mercy Health Care & Rehabilitation Center in Homewood, IL until her retirement. Ruth & Jim moved to Dyer, IN in 2005 until his passing in 2011 and she then relocated to Chandler, AZ.

Ruth was a caring person who always put others ahead of herself. She will be remembered for her kindness and for all the people she helped, especially for guiding her 10-year old granddaughter Kristine since birth as they spent vast amounts of time together every day. Her legacy will be carried on by Kristine who, according to Kristine, "wants to be just like Grandma when she grows up".

Ruth was preceded in death by her spouse James Harczynski, parents Fredrich & Slyvia Marschke & brother Fredrick Marschke. Ruth is survived by her daughter Lisa Weyer, son David Harczynski, and two granddaughters Jessa Rogers & Kristine Harczynski.

Graveside services will be held for Ruth and James on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 2:30 pm at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, Arizona.
