Steven Salazar Obituary

Steven Salazar, 64 of Phoenix, Arizona passed away at his home on May 21, 2019. He was born on November 8, 1954 to Sotero and JosephineÂ (Pepa) Salazar in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. He was a graduate of Scottsbluff High School and moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1972. He began work in Phoenix at Leroy's Liquor Store but in 1978 moved back to Scottsbluff in order to help his father as a potato harvester. After the harvesting season he began work as a meat cutter. In 1979 he moved back to Phoenix and returned to Leroy's. Steve was a student of Martial Arts and one of his favorite activities was bowling with friends and family. Steve, known to some as "The Wolf", was a gifted vocalist. The warm tone of his voice touched countless hearts as he sang his soulful melodies to anyone and everyone who would listen. His passion for music led him to become a well known karaoke host and local karaoke superstar. He was considered a great friend to many, making friends wherever he went. Steve has two daughters, Elisa Aldaco and Samantha Rojas. His son is Gunnery Sergeant Steven Michael Salazar, United States Marine Corps Retired, an Iraq and Afghanistan War Veteran. His Sons in Law are Santo Aldaco and Andrew Rojas. He is the grandfather to Avianna Aldaco (18), Miranda Salazar (16), Madelyn Salazar (15), Aidan Salazar (15), Jacob Aldaco (13), Andre Aldaco (9), Shawn Aldaco (7), and Ayla Salazar (1mo). His three brothers and five sister are Sotero Salazar Jr., Ben Salazar, Vidal Salazar, Mary Garza, Caroline Quevedo, Henrietta Moreno, Rachel Gonzales, and Linda Gonzalez. Steve was a loving son, adored brother, beloved father, cherished grandfather and most loved friend to so many people. His many nieces and nephews have long proclaimed him their "Favorite Uncle Steve".Â Funeral services forÂ Steve "The Wolf" Salazar will be on Friday June 7th, 2019 at 11:00am, with a viewing starting at 10:00am, at Richardson Funeral Home, 2621 South Rural Road, Tempe, Arizona.Â Richardson Funeral Home, Tempe, Arizona is compassionately serving the family.Â
