Betty Patz Obituary

Betty Patz, 87 of Mesa, Arizona passed away at her home on September 18, 2020. She was first married to the late George Graham and widow of Edward Patz. Betty was born September 27, 1932 in Berkeley County, South Carolina the daughter of the late Lamar and Mimcy Wyndham. Retired from the Georgia Pacific Plywood Plant, Betty was a loving mother and grandmother. She spent most of her life in Macedonia, South Carolina, she moved to Arizona in 2016 to live with her daughter. While residing in Berkeley County, South Carolina she attended Russellville Christian Church. Betty enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening and having pretty flowers in her yard. She will be sadly missed. Surviving are her daughter- Phyllis Patz Mitchum of Mesa, AZ; son-in-law- Benjamin Mitchum of Mesa, AZ.; grandchildren- Sgt. Benjamin Mitchum, Jr. and his wife, Carmen, of Ft. Hood, Texas; Sarah Elizabeth Mitchum of Mesa, AZ.; three great grandchildren- Benjamin Mitchum, III; Malachi Beale and Jadziah Mitchum. Betty is predeceased by four brothers- R.L. Wyndham, Willis Wyndham, Vernard Wyndham, F.L. Wyndham and her long time friend and companion- James “Buck” Joyner. A graveside service will be held in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Hwy 45, St. Stephen, South Carolina on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at 12:00 PM. The family will receive friends at Russell Funeral Chapel, Moncks Corner, South Carolina from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Richardson Funeral Home, Tempe, Arizona and Russell Funeral Chapel, Moncks Corner, South Carolina are both compassionately serving the Patz family.
