Bruce Alan Bernier, 78 of Tempe, Arizona passed away on May 8, 2021 at Banner Desert Medical Center, Mesa, Arizona. Bruce was born on November 5, 1942 the son of Henry and Patricia Bernier in Fargo, North Dakota. Bruce had many careers in his lifespan, including working for trucking companies, the restaurant industry, plastics, and banking to name a few. Bruce was a proud patriot and served in the U.S. Navy from 1959 to 1963. He and his family moved to the valley in 1985. He was a devoted husband, father, and friend to everyone that knew him. He opened his heart and his home to everyone he met. He was always welcoming, and he was ready to share his vast knowledge on every subject. After retirement, Bruce honed in on practicing his various hobbies. He had a green thumb and took pride in caring for trees, plants, and flowers in his yard. He was skilled in woodworking. He set up shop and helped friends build boats and cabinetry. Bruce is survived by his 4 children: Dawn, Daniel, Diane and Deborah; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; Brother David Bernier, Paul Bernier, Mark Bernier, and sister Mary Bernier. Graveside services, with full military honors, will be held on Friday, June 11, 2021 at 9:00 AM at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, Arizona.
