Carole Anne Price

Carole Anne Price, 66 of Chandler, Arizona passed away on January 22, 2021 at Archstone Care Center, Chandler, Arizona. She was born on August 14, 1954 the daughter of Harold and Jean (Fountain) Wickham in Fort Valley, Georgia. She worked as a Registered Nurse and had lived in Arizona for the past 49 years. Carole worked at local emergency room and at 33 years of age became the head nurse Scottsdale Osborn Trauma and Emergency Center. Tragically, at that age she was diagnosed with a grade IV astrocytoma and was given 3 months to live. After a experimental treatment, the damage to her healthy brain tissues caused more seizure activity. That tissue was removed and in the process left her paralyzed on her right side and lacking the ability to speak, with the exception of a few words. Her ability to understand what was said and done in her environment was left intact. Carole choice to “accept” her fate, therefore was the most positive person to be around. Her ever present smile was an attribute that family, friends, and caregivers loved about her. She had a great “eyeroll” when annoyed. She was able to contribute 1-2 words in a conversation, one day she commented on a certain situation as being “reprehensible” which delighted everyone including Carole. Her other attributes included bravery, courage, mental strength, kindness, generosity, intelligence, calming nature, loving and beautiful. She was faithful to God and to the Catholic Church. She is survived by her mother Jean Wickham, brothers, Mike Wickham, Scott Wickham and his wife, Robin, sister, Jacqueline Wickham and niece, Kali Johnson, sister, Patricia Wickham-Monsegur, niece, Sarah Monsegur, nephew, Matthew Monsegur. Madison McKenna, niece. Her father, Harold R. Wickham and sister Mary E. Wickham precede her in death. A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 pm, at Richardson Funeral Home 2621 South Rural Road, Tempe, Arizona . Mass of Christian burial will follow on February 19, 2021 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church at 2121 South Rural Road, Tempe, Arizona. Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1562 E Baseline Rd, Mesa, Arizona at 11:30 am.
