Cassandra Lynn Allen

Cassandra Lynn Allen, 42 of Phoenix, Arizona passed away at her home on September 29, 2018. She was born in Mexico City, Mexico on August 10, 1976, at the ABC Hospital, the daughter of Thomas and Christine (Muth) Mansfield. It was such a beautiful occasion. Her father was present in the delivery room. The doctor said, “Mr. Mansfield, you see that stool over there in the corner? Yes. You go over there and sit. The last father that witnessed his child being born fainted in the middle of the birth and I had to step over him the whole time!” So... you sit! It was the most marvelous thing her father had ever seen. Cass went to Thomas Jefferson School in Mexico until she was 6 years old. The family moved to San Diego, California in 1983. Cass graduated from High School at University City High in San Diego and went on to obtain a degree in Advertising Arts. Most of her professional career was in Marketing for various industries including the Pharmaceutical industry. Cassandra has two beautiful children, Addison age 14 and John Thomas ( JT) age 9, from her marriage to Sean Allen. Although they are no longer married, Sean and Cassandra continued to have a good relationship for the children. JT is now at St. Theresa Catholic School. Addison graduated last year from St. Theresa and is now attending Arcadia High School. Cass loved sports. As a youngster she was very active in softball, soccer and basketball. She and her two friends coached a girls soccer team while Juniors in high school and took the team to the finals in their division. Cass was the coach for JT’s flag football team two seasons in a row. The first female to coach flag football in the Phoenix area. She took her team to winning seasons both years. Needless to say, Cass was competitive. She loved sports but most of all she loved her children, her friends and her family. Cassandra’s passing is a shock to all of us. Left to cherish her memory are her two children, Addison and JT, parents, Thomas and Christine Mansfield, and a brother, Clayton Mansfield. A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Richardson Funeral Home, 2621 South Rural Road, Tempe, Arizona. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Friday, October 5, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 5045 East Thomas Road, Phoenix, Arizona. Interment will immediately follow the funeral mass at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, 2044 North 48th Street, Phoenix, Arizona.
