Celesta Jacobsen was born March 5, 1934, in Waco, NE, to Miller and Inez Adkisson. She was the youngest of nine children. She graduated from Lincoln High School in the class of 1952. She worked for State Farm Insurance for 5 years. On June 12, 1955, she was united in marriage to Edgar Dale (Jake) Jacobsen, and from this union there were three children born: Jerri Lynn, Jeffery Lee, and Joey Lane. After her children were older, Celesta went to work for Sperry New Holland and retired from Sperry 23 years later. After retirement, Celesta and Jake spent winters in Arizona, finally deciding to move permanently to Sunsites, AZ in 1995, where they enjoyed being with friends and family, playing golf, enjoying the beautiful scenery, and studying the old West. Their home looked out to the Cochise Stronghold, and they saw many beautiful sunrises and sunsets while living there. In 2010, Celesta and Jake moved to Phoenix to be closer to family. Celesta is survived by her children Jerri Fletcher of Phoenix, Jeffery (Charlene) of Phoenix, and Joey (Patti) of Omaha, NE; grandchildren John (Desi) Fletcher of Alexandria, VA, Ely (Heather) Fletcher of Monument, CO, Sara (Cheyanne) Fletcher of Panama City, FL, Nicholas (Kristina) Jacobsen of Fort Worth, TX, Turner Jacobsen of Phoenix, Codi Jacobsen of Oklahoma City, OK, Shelbi Jacobsen of Omaha, NE, Easton Jacobsen of Phoenix; Step grandchildren Derek Snyders, of Omaha, NE, and Dia (Justin) Roelle, of North Platte, NE; and 10 Great grandchildren. Celesta is also survived by many, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Miller and Inez, all of her brothers: Merle, Glenn, Floyd, Marion and all of her sisters: Marie Haught, Doris French, Dorothy Ann Wimmer, Letamae French. Her request was to be cremated and buried in the Norman cemetery in Norman, NE, with her husband, Jake. Richardson Funeral Home, Tempe, Arizona is compassionately serving the Jacobsen family.
