Duane Theodore Bloemke Sr

Duane Theodore Bloemke, born May 12, 1935, passed away peacefully on February 15th, 2021, with his family by his side. He was born and raised with his family in Elgin, Illinois. Later, Duane attended the University of Arizona, where he met his first wife Leslie, they raised a family of three boys in southern California. Duane was an avid baseball fan, he coached little league and taught his boys the art of baseball. Always taking them to see the Red Sox play the Angels when they came to town. Duane owned his own construction company before becoming head engineer and co-owner of Desco manufacturing - specializing in resurfacing equipment. This allowed him the opportunity to travel to many ports around the world. After spending many years working/living from his custom home in Virginia Beach, Duane retired to Arizona. He and his wife Jan built a house on the Duke Golf Course in Maricopa, Arizona. Although retired, he continued working at various sports venues and making friends with the Arizona Cardinals, Oakland A's, ASU Football, Barret-Jackson auto auctions and the PGA Tour among several other venues. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend to many. Duane was one who always saw the best in everyone. He boasted that he "never met a stranger" along with his favorite slogan of "it's just another beautiful day in the Ozarks"! He was preceded in death by his son Duane "Ted" Bloemke Jr., father Lorraine, mother Alice, sister Beverly and brother Richard. Duane is survived by his wife Jan, sister Sharon, son Greg and daughter-in-law Lisa, his grandchildren Shannon, Ryan and Stacia Bloemke, and his great grandsons Royce and Trey. A Celebration of Duane's life will be held on April 30, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Desert Breeze Park, Chandler in the "Mesquite Pavilion", 660 North Desert Breeze Boulevard East, Chandler, Arizona 85226. Please use ball field parking lot off Desert Breeze Parkway, south of the lake.
