Elaine Kurtz of Laveen Village, Arizona passed away peacefully on January 11th, 2022. Elaine was born on December 14th, 1945 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was raised by her mother Loretta and father Robert along with her two younger sisters, Nancy and Sue. As a child, Elaine spent summers at one of her favorite places, a church camp named Lutherlyn. Her sons would follow in her footsteps and attend the camp as well. Elaine married the love of her life, Dan on August 31st, 1968, and had two boys, Ken and Mike. She continued in her faith and stayed very involved with the church. She volunteered with administrative tasks, such as preparing for the weekly services and delivering meals to elderly members with mobility challenges. After retirement, Elaine and Dan traveled the world. Together, they visited all 7 continents. Some of her favorite destinations included China, Machu Picchu, the Galapagos Islands, and Africa. In 2016, they moved to Laveen Village to be closer to their sons. Elaine is survived by her husband Dan, sons Ken and Mike, daughters-in-law Cindy and Jessica, and her sisters Nancy and Sue. A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Richardson Funeral Home, 2621 South Rural Road, Tempe, Arizona, 85282. Funeral services will follow on Friday, January 21, 2022, at 1:00 PM also at the Richardson Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the funeral services.
