Georgia Bustamante

Georgia Bustamante, 100 of Tempe, Arizona passed away at her home on February 8, 2020. She was born on May 25, 1919 the daughter of Primitivo and Patrocenia (Nolasco) Hernandez in Morenci, Arizona. She was the last survivor of her immediate family and lived in Arizona all of her life. She valued education greatly. She became ill while she was in high school and had to drop out, but went back years later to receive her GED and then on to take some college courses. She was raised in the Catholic faith, was very religious, and encouraged strong faith in Jesus and Mary. She married the love of her life, Raul Bustamante and they just recently celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary on December 24, 2019.Georgia was a calm, patient, and kind person who loved children. She worked for many years in the Phoenix school system helping children and was known for her patient and loving care in her teaching style. She loved to laugh and often couldn't stop once she started. Some of her greatest joys were singing, dancing, painting pictures, cooking, and sewing. She also loved to help people in politics who she thought were honest. She often helped during the elections and the voting sites. She loved anything in nature, especially flowers and her favorite color was yellow. She was predeceased by her son, Raul. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Raul, five children, Frances, Lydia, Jimmy, Rose, and Greg, along with 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm, at Richardson Funeral Home, 2621 South Rural Road, Tempe, Arizona. Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at 9:30 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 2121 South Rural Road, Tempe, Arizona. Interment will follow the funeral mass at St Francis Catholic Cemetery, Phoenix, Arizona. Richardson Funeral Home, Tempe, Arizona is compassionately serving the Bustamante family.
