Jane Brandt Obituary

Jane passed away on July 23 in Tempe, Arizona. She was born July 23, 1943 in Effingham, IL, to Raymond and Ruth (Diehl) Althoff.

Jane attended the University of Illinois where she graduated with a degree in Education and earned a Master's degree in Education from Northern Illinois University. She taught Home Economics at various high schools in the Chicago area as well as Adult Education at the College of Lake County. She enjoyed gardening and ceramics. Her most cherished roles were those of wife, mother, grandmother, and ultimate lacrosse fan.

In August of 1968, Jane married Dale Brandt. They were married for almost 54 years. During this time, their family lived in the Libertyville, IL area, and Spirit Lake, IA, before settling down in Arizona 7 years ago.

Jane is survived by her husband Dale, sons Jeffrey (Lisa) of Mundelein, IL and Raymond (Briana) of Tempe, AZ, and grandchildren, Reilly of Las Colinas, TX and Ella of Royal Oak, MI.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations can be made to Hospice of the Valley at www.hov.org
