Joel Craig Turner, a 4th generation native and resident of Tempe, Arizona, passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022, at the age of 65. Joel was a son to deceased parents Calvin G. & Rubie F. Turner, and the youngest sibling to his deceased brother Calvin P. Turner and surviving brother George M. Turner. After graduating from McClintock HS in 1974 and acquiring his Associates Degree at Mesa Community College, Joel entered his career field as a fossil & nuclear power plant I&C technician taking him to Colorado, Missouri, and Arizona. As a boy and young man, Joel went through the ranks of the Boy Scouts, Order of DeMolay and free Masonry. He grew up enjoying life and outdoor recreation with family and friends, and was a caring and giving person with a shared love of family. Following his father’s passing, Joel took on the responsibility as care taker to his mother until her passing. He was a loving son and brother, very proud and independent, never one to want, but rather one to sacrifice and share. He was deeply loved and will be deeply missed. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 12:00 PM, with a viewing beginning at 11:00 AM at Richardson Funeral Home, 2621 South Rural Road, Tempe, Arizona. Burial will immediately follow the funeral services at 1:00 PM at Mesa City Cemetery, 1212 N Center St, Mesa, Arizona.
