Ramon S Briceno Sr, 77 passed away on Saturday January 16, 2021. He was born in Mexico and married Maria in 1971. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. Ramon is survived by his wife, Maria (Loly), 5 daughters (Laura, Vanessa, Brenda, Veronica, Susana), 1 son (Gustavo), 16 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and 9 siblings. He is mourned by many more family members, friends, and others who knew him. He will be received in Heaven by the Lord, his grandparents Agustina and Julián, his mother Rogelia, father Jose, brother Javier, and his parents-in-laws Baldomero and Mariana. Ramon immigrated to the U.S. in 1962, at the age of 19. He worked in the tortilla industry for almost 50 years and always worked hard to provide for his family. Ramon always had a lesson to teach and often accompanied these lessons with anecdotes. Some of the lessons he taught were:
…Work hard, no matter what the job, always do your best.
… Be kind to others and treat all people equally, from the janitor to the CEO. All people deserve respect.
… Education alone doesn’t define success. He built a great life despite having only a first-grade education.
…Still, education opens door, shoot high and never stop learning.
… Be independent and learn to fend for yourself, but always stop to help others along the way.
… It’s important to be a critical thinker and that it’s okay to change your mind.
Ramon was a salt of the earth man who was always willing to help anyone in need. People knew him for his sense of humor, grand tales, concern for others, and fun-loving personality. Above all else, he had an unwavering devotion to all of his family. He will be sorely missed.
