Rufina Gonzales

Rufina Gonzales, 90 of Tempe, Arizona died peacefully last Wednesday morning, October 20, 2021. She was a strong, religious, and loving woman. She was a beloved mother, sweet grandmother, caring sister, dear aunt, and loyal friend. Her 7 children survive her; daughter Patsy (Ray) and their 2 children, Andrew and Alaina; son Clement ( Judy) and children, Jimmy (deceased), Robert and Brandi; son Ray and his children, Ray Jr, Jennifer, Patricia, and Victoria (deceased); daughter Tina; daughter Celia (Kelly) and their child, Kelsey; son Ricky (Tami) and their children, Eric, Marc, and Kristina; and daughter Vicky (Warren) and their children, Philip and Christopher. As her 15 grandchildren married and had children, Mom had 28 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren whom she prayed for and cherished. Rufina had a very strong faith. She was a spiritual warrior! She prayed 3-4 hours daily from her worn and frayed prayer books. She went to mass daily when she was physically able and belonged to the Sodality of Our Lady of Mt Carmel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 10:30 AM, with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 10:00 AM, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 2121 South Rural Road, Tempe, Arizona. Interment will immediately follow the funeral mass at St Francis Catholic Cemetery, 2033 North 48th Street, Phoenix, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Rufina's name may be made to St Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 645 E Missouri Ave #255, Phoenix, Arizona 85012.
