Victor Herbert Tidwell

Victor H. Tidwell, age 87, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2022.  Vic was born and raised in Beardstown, IL.  After serving in the Air Force, Vic began his teaching career at Kansas State and University of Iowa while he obtained a doctorate degree.  He then relocated to Tempe where he was a professor at Arizona State University for 27 years.  He touched many lives while volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, Thomas J Pappas School, Red Cross, food banks and adult literacy.  Vic was predeceased by his wife Ann, parents William and Editha Tidwell, and his son Doug.  He is survived by his daughter Lisa Hedgecoth (Terry), grandsons, TJ and Daniel Hedgecoth, stepchildren N. Ann Cooley and Martin Cooley (Dian), sister Juanita Barker of Springfield, Il, a niece and nephew.  A visitation will be held 4 – 7 pm Monday April 4th at Richardson Funeral Home, 2621 S Rural Rd, Tempe.  A memorial service and reception will be held Tuesday April 5th at noon at University Lutheran Church, 340 East 15th Street, Tempe following the 9:30 am interment at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, Phoenix, AZ.    Richardson Funeral Home, Tempe, Arizona is compassionately serving the Tidwell family.
